Got my copy of Keep the faith magazine through the letterbox the other day.
It’s the first issue and features nothing but illegal graff damage except for a feature called ‘big titted painters’ which as the title suggests is 2 topless birds painting which as far as I’m concerned is a bonus.

If you were introduced to London graffiti by Banksy and brick lane than this isn’t for you likewise if your idea of a classic graffiti book is ‘graffiti world’ rather than ‘Subway art’ than again its probably not gonna be your cup of T.

But if you wanna see some hardcore graffiti action, and what the underground scene is all about then there is plenty of tubes, trains, and damage to keep you satisfied.
There’s also an interview with old school tube writer ‘Coma’ if you wanna learn abit of London graff history, and a couple of pages dedicated to writers that have passed away recently notably Ozone.

Old school Graffiti Legend IZ THE WIZ has died.

If you don’t know IZ THE WIZ was a true New York Bombing King back in the day.

Iz also had a major part in the graffiti documentary style wars, if you aint seen it get to know.

IZ was bombing way before Graffiti became globally popular like it is today, back in them days it was raw there was no internet, magazines or books to bite styles from, or art fags copying other art fags it was all about tracks, trains, getting up, racking your paint and trying to king the city.

This shit was painted off curtain road in Shoreditch in one one derelict warehouse that Solomon was showing me around a couple of months back by Bleach, Probs, Busk and Zador from Octupus Ink. I came in halfway through when they was painting the electro blue man from Watchmen. They was at it for a couple of days already. Purple Bogey central. Serious.

The Nike 1948 space is also obviously the location of The Reset event on May 2nd/3rd. It seems all the labels involved have something new or something special released at this event… The Ugly Kids Club are not straying away from the trend. When they were first putting together the temporary (but now permanent) space i always had my eye on the big white wall in the courtyard. And as soon as the opportunity to brighten up the place came up i stepped up to the plate and hustled a budget from the powers that be at Nike. Once the generous shopping was done, Me and Mr. Cee procedded to give 1948 a technicolour dream coat paint job. On top of that we layered a pattern of White Air Max 90s: The standard Rudeboy Crep or the Essex boy Chav Uniform trainer. Whichver side of Ilford you wana look at it.

Once those plain creps were up i invited whoever wanted to step to the plate to draw and design their own interpretation of the shoe with only one guideline: Black and White. Big up firstly to Fresh Mister Cee for painting the wall and also being the only with a colored trainer, and then to all the contributers some who i may have forgotten: BV80, Jengone, Ms. Lae, Suz P, Nick, Aghostinho even Gynelle got in the mix.
