Not too long ago we were brought down by Batlows good old friends to a little gem deep in Essex. Probably towards the end of Essex. Right in an industrial area, where we had to go through a winding pathway which led us to a part of the River Thames I’ve never been. What lay alongside our walk in the sun was a stretch of concrete wall, which may have been a good mile long, probably even longer. Well, we walked far enough for us to find a decent enough spot for us to paint. It could have stretched out further for all I know.

Some people enjoy peacful relaxation in the sun by reading a book, having a stroll in the park, going for a cycle, whatever their preference. Straight chillin for The UKC involves painting with pretty colours on a wall, with all the time in the world to get as creative as possible. Simple.

Towie fever has been here for a while, probably even more so ’cause of the new series, which everyone may think is “reem”. Tangerine girls, tangerine girls, and more tangerine girls, is what I can recall from this proper Essex Affair. During the arrival of Spring this year, was… Essex Fashion Week. Yes. Essex Fashion Week. Think high end, premium… New Look. With Faces sponsoring it. And a big pink strawberry chocolate fountain. Yup.

On the way to the infamous county called Essex, countless stories were being told in my ear while I was driving, of Batlows mischievous kidulthood; of his secondary school memories, his cotching spots, local parks, all with a smile on his face. He directed me effortlessly to the venue, knowing every shortcut like the back of his hand. For those of you that don’t know, Batlow is an Essex boy at heart. He was the token filipino in school. Or to Essex people, ‘the exotic one’ (#Winning). So why were Batlow and I there you ask? For Essex Fashion Week?! Well, we were working behind the scenes of course…

Don’t be fooled. It takes a lot of effort and hard work to stand around behind the scenes to watch girls get changed you know. Trust me. Really. It does. For real. I swear. It’s exhausting.

I’m kidding. We were really there to steal Lydia’s micro pig, and barbeque it.

No really I’m joking. We were really there to showcase a kids line, which we were commissioned to design. This solves our problem for everyone that’s always asked us to actually make kids clothes, because we’re The Ugly Kids Club. For anyone that has kids, make sure you watch out for this line.
