We are sentimental mofos here at The Ugly Kids Club and we weren’t even in Camden long but we have a secret soft spot for colourful Camden now. It wouldn’t be The Ugly Kids Club if we didnt do a recap… so here it is… welcome to a month in the life The ‘Ugly Swedge’ in Camden.
We got the builders in but we didn’t go for our regular polish crew…

Believe it or not, we put the UKC Pop Up shop together in a week…

… and was ready to open up our doors to trade on schedule and on time.

It was the only place to purchase The ‘Ugly or Die’ T…

We had an all day ’shindig’ for our opening..

Followed by a trip to Marketplace. Where we swedged out after a long hard week.

Couple days after that… we did a spot of bodypainting with UKC x SMUT

Greatest picture from a night full of great pictures….

Big up to Durell. Solid member of the ‘Ugly Swedge’ crew.

Ala and Anna… the early Swedge Girls.

Camden was real sunny at some points this summer… not down Swedge Street, but Camden in general.

We decidied to hit a country cottage and had a barbecue one day.

We consumed alot of alcohol when we settled ourselves into The Camden lifestyle…

We hit the Nooki launch with The Upper Playground/ East meets West crew and consumed a bit of alcohol.

We also hit Turn off the Radio in east and consumed some alcohol.

We thought we might aswell throw our own jam on… and consume some alcohol.

We invited Skinnyman down to perform, but that didnt go to plan.

You get The Good times. You get The Bad times. Sometimes you get The Ugly times.

We wanted to have an Ugly time…

Big up to Monster for showing love…

We made the best of a bad situation and had a friggin good time.

We hit Urban Nerds Carnival Special… we sold out with all colourways of the ‘Roll with The Ugly’ quicktime by the way, just one of the great tee shirts that we were selling at Camden that is no longer with us…

We had a little bit of an ‘end of an ugly swedge era’ meal the other night with the remaining and last standing members of The Ugly Swedge crew…

On our last day we even got a cake specially made for us by Charlotte Stone to celebrate the great times.

And thats it…
‘Swedge‘ if your wondering is an everything and anything word. It can be everything and could be anything.
Swedge became the name of the strip we were residing at. Zen-man selling the fossils and the crystal meth, ifreecans collective next to them, the hungarian chick selling the soft toys, GB selling the Wonder Dresses (a hundred dresses in one), Vinyl Stars – Durrel and Faime, the jesus creepers shop, The Ugly Kids Club (us), The Rasta Man, Famous Stars and Straps and Andre – the homosexual guy who sold doggy bling and camp fancy dress outfits for dogs.
The only person left on ‘Swedge’ street is GB… seen here with a swedge of chocolate cake.

Big up to our extended family at Vinyl Stars/Always and Forever… Durrel and Faime. Big up to the swedge girls that kept us company and helped us get through them hard, boring and monomotomous times and of course big up everyone who passed through to purchase a tee, come check out the store or even just breezed in to say hello.
So whats happening now?
Keep posted…
